What does the Simplified Employment Pension Plan for the Self-Employed (SOPPSE) cover?
- Retirement.

Who can take out a SOPPSE?
The promoter of the plan can be any association, federation, trade union or union of self-employed workers, or self-employed workers or professional association, as well as Mutual Social Welfare Societies linked to these, and any self-employed worker can be a participant in the plan, regardless of whether they are linked to the promoter.

1 Contributions made on an individual basis to pension and individual pension plans (PPA) plans, together with any business contributions that may apply to employment plans, cannot exceed the joint limit of €10,000. In the event that this limit or any of the limits mentioned for each individual product are exceeded, the order of priority in maintaining said contributions is as follows: Business Employment Pension Plans, Occupational Pension Plans for Self-employed Customers and Individual Pension Plans/PPA.
Personal Income Tax regime: The maximum per annum reduction in the general personal income tax base in the common territory and Navarre will be the lower amount of either the contribution made or 30% of the sum total of the net income from employment and economic activities, in accordance with the tax rules in effect. In the special regional tax legislation of the Basque Country, the maximum limit for per annum reduction of the taxable base in personal income tax is €5,000 for individual contributions, €8,000 for company contributions and a joint limit of €12,000.
