Want to know the fees you have to pay at ATMs?
The fee varies depending on whether you make a debit or credit withdrawal:
- For debit withdrawals at ATMs in Spain, the Bank can only charge you the maximum fee applied by the entity that owns the ATM. For withdrawals abroad, the maximum you will pay is the Banco Sabadell fee and the fee charged by the ATM owner.
- For credit withdrawals, the maximum you will pay is the Banco Sabadell fee and the fee charged by the ATM owner.
In all cases, the information on the cost of the transaction will appear on the ATM screen so that you can decide whether to authorise the transaction or cancel it.
Fees for cash withdrawals are regulated by RDL 19/2018, of 23 November, on payment services and other urgent financial measures that includes the rules established by RDL 11/2015 which, among other matters, states that the entities that own the ATMs may charge the card issuing entity a fee, which in general will be passed on to the customers using the ATMs.
