Bizum for minors
Teens can also send and receive money on their mobiles
How it works
Convenience and speed
With limits to save money
Everything you can do with Bizum starting as a minor
- Send and receive money instantly, with control: Parents or guardians go with the minor to the branch and sign the contract that will allow the minor’s remote banking to be managed. Once this step is completed, the minor will be able to activate Bizum from the mobile app, but with the limits already established for minors.
- Request money: Ask for pocket money or funds directly from the app.
- Pay for online purchases: The minor will be able to shop safely at their favorite online stores, without needing a card and with a pre-set purchase limit.
Requirements to activate Bizum for under-18s
- Age: the minor must be between 14 and 17 years old.
- Account: be a holder of a Sabadell First Account.
- Digital access: The Banco Sabadell app must be downloaded, and the user’s mobile number must be registered in our systems.
- Operational remote banking: Parents must go with the minor to one of our branches to sign the contract that allows the minor to have operational remote banking in order to activate Bizum.

We answer your most frequently asked questions
What is the minimum age to use Bizum?
At Banco Sabadell, the minimum age to start using the Bizum service is 14 years old.
This functionality is exclusive to holders of the Sabadell First Account designed for young people between 14 and 17 years old. It is an ideal stage for them to become familiar with digital payments and money management before reaching adulthood, always within a safe and supervised environment under the guidance of their guardians.
Can I cancel my son’s Bizum?
As with the service for adults, transfers are immediate and cannot be cancelled once they have been made. If a mistake has been made, you will need to ask the recipient to return the money. However, money requests can be cancelled if the recipient has not yet accepted them.
What are the transaction limits for minors?
Security is our primary concern. Although the general Bizum limits permit larger transactions, the use of Bizum for minors entails different options:
- Sending money (Bizum)
- Maximum amount per transaction: €50.00
- Daily cumulative limit: €120.00
- Monthly cumulative limit: €500.00
- Maximum number of transactions: 40 per day and 60 per month
- Receiving money (Bizum)
- Maximum amount per transaction: €1,000.00
- Daily/monthly cumulative limit: €2,000.00
- Maximum number of monthly transactions: 60
- Purchases and refunds
- Maximum amount per transaction: €200.00
- Daily cumulative limit: €200.00
- Monthly cumulative limit: €500.00
- Maximum number of transactions: 10 per day and 30 per month
- Money requests (Bizum)
- Maximum amount per transaction: €50.00
- Maximum number of monthly transactions: 60
What happens when the minor turns 18?
When the minor turns 18, they must go to the branch to sign a new remote banking contract as an adult. At that time, Bizum will automatically stop working at 18 years, 1 month, and 1 day.
Can my son use Bizum if we share the same mobile number?
No. To use Bizum, each user must have a unique mobile phone number linked to their bank account. Since Bizum works by sending money from “mobile to mobile,” your child must have their own phone number registered with the bank in order to link it to theirSabadell First Account..
